Everybody Reads Month for March

This year's theme is Tales on the Trails. We will be keeping track of how many books we read throughout the month and marking our progress on a poster with the state of South Dakota map.

Our goal this year as a community is to read over 500,000 books. By doing this, we will be able to raise $1,700 for the nonprofit REACH Literacy program.

You can help by reading a book with your child at home, having them do some extra reading before bed, or asking them about all the books they have read at school!

4th Grade DAPA play!

Last week the "Spotlight Theatre from the Washington Pavilion came to share they play with our 4th grade students. The play was called, "Monster in the Mirrow" it was about cyberbullying, seeing people for who they are, and forgiveness.

Parents: Cyberbullying is a growing issue as technology becomes more and more accessible to youth audiences. A 2022 poll from the Pew Research Center states that 46% of US teens have experienced some sort of cyberbullying. There are many sources on how to spot cyberbullying and ways to help students heal from cyberbullying and the surrounding feelings that may come with.

Common Sense Education has an abundance of sources to build internet literacy with students and spot cyberbullying. School Safety also has sources on how to prevent cyberbullying. Check out the links below to utilize these resources!

Happy School Counselor Week to our AMAZING school counselors, Aaron Jensen and Liz Copple.

Both Mr. Jensen and Mrs. Copple work hard every day to support all of our Anne Sullivan students but in and out of the classroom. School Counselors have a tremendous impact in helping students achieve school success, feel safe at school, and build problem solving skills and peer interactions.

If you see them around the building or out on the playground, take a moment to say Thank you!

Friday, January 23, 2026, will be a Remote Learning Day in the Sioux Falls School District!

iPads and Chromebooks were sent home with each student earlier today. We will not have in-person learning in the schools, but students are expected to connect to their Canvas account from home for assignments and learning resources. They have practiced this at school and know what is expected of them.
