This is a friendly reminder that Kindergarten open house, registration, and before school conferences will be held on Monday, August 17th from 7:30am-5pm. If you already have a scheduled time, we look forward to seeing you. If you need to set up a time, please contact the school and set that time up or come to Anne Sullivan on the 17th and office staff can help you get started.

The year has come to an end!
As the 25-26 school year has come to an end, we took a moment at our end of the year assembly to celebrate some of our amazing accomplishments and recognize teachers that will not be with us next school year.
Our 5th grade students earn awards like Academic Excellence, Academic Achievement, All-Star Leadership, and Peer Mentor recognition. We also celebrated our EL students that graduated from EL services based on their spring WIDA score!
Lastly, we said goodbye to a few teachers to retired, are moving, or changed positions! We will miss them all!
At Anne Sullivan we are so proud of all the things we have accomplished this year! Our students worked hard every day to learn, grow, and make good choices!

End of the Year Festivities!
Last week we got to enjoy fun at activities at Washington High School! All of our students got to walk to Washington were high school students hosted us with fun games and activities!
On our last day, we had our annual field day! A day full of fun, bouncy houses, face painting, arts and crafts, and so much more! Students had a great time spending the last day with their teachers and friends!

Every spring out EL students take the WIDA test to see how they are doing on their English language skills. Our students worked so hard and did amazing. We had so many students graduate from EL this spring which means they have fabulous skills in both their native language and English as a second language. We are so proud of all of them!
Our EL team got to take them bowling to celebrate. Thank you to our EL teachers for all of their hard work!

This morning, our 2nd grade students got to enjoy some beautiful weather at Good Earth State Park. They had a great time outdoors learning about the environment and nature.

Today Mrs. Soukup, our gym teacher, got to celebrate the top runners of Anne Sullivan. These five boys broke some records running their pacer test. AMAZING!!

🌟🎉 Kuanyama Club Celebration! 🌟🎉
Here at Anne Sullivan, we have a variety of languages spoken by all of our students and families. We get to celebrate those languages with our language clubs that we have after school. Recently, our Kuanyama club had their celebration, ate some snacks, and did some traditional dancing! It was a great time, and we love seeing our students celebrate who they are!

🌟 Anne Sullivan's 1st Annual Academic Success Parade!! 🌟
Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students have completed their South Dakota State Testing and have done amazing! Students who made growth on their test from the previous year earned a silver medal. Students who got a 3 or a 4 on their test earned a gold medal.
Last week we had a parade through the school to celebrate all of our students!
Overall, we had 205 students earn medals for either gold or silver on either the Math or ELA test. We had 348 medals given out to students with their testing. This is AMAZING!!
We are so proud of our students and all of their hard work. We are also so thankful for all of our teachers and their hard work in preparing our students each and every day!

There is a free family night event TUESDAY at the Washington Pavilion on May 5th from 5:30-7:30pm. You can get access to the Kirby Science Center, dinner provided, and films will be playing!
The Annual Anne Sullivan Game Night!
Last Thursday we held our annual family game night to celebrate all of our amazing students and their families. We had so many wonderful families come and enjoy some pizza and play some board games together. It was great to see all of our students and their families interacting together, laughing, and having a good time!
We also got to showcase the amazing artwork that our students have created from kindergarten to fifth grade. Thank you to those that made this all possible!

Special Visitors at Anne Sullivan.
Yesterday we had some special visitors come see out 1st grade writing students. Our very out ML teacher Mrs. Lawson, brought her goats to school to give the students a hands-on experience learning about animals. This learning would then help them with their writing work in the classroom. Students had a great time learning about goats and getting to pet them if they wanted!

March "Everybody Reads" Month Update!
We are going strong and reading all the books along the way. Anne Sullivan students have really stepped up their reading! We are up to 5,659!

Today we celebrated the END of 3rd Quarter! 🥳🎉
All of our Anne Sullivan students have worked hard this quarter and starting to prepare for state and spring testing!
We also had our Annual 5th Grade Student vs. Staff Basketball Game. All of the staff and students that participated played hard and had a lot of fun!
Reminder: There will be NO SCHOOL tomorrow, Friday, March 20th! Enjoy the long weekend and the nice weather.
