📚 Everybody Reads update! 📚 So far we have read over 100,000 books which means that REACH literacy will be donating more money for all our hard work!
Our goal is to reach 300,000 books by March 31st! Help our students keep up the good work by encouraging them to read at home or reading with them! WE GOT THIS! 🌟

SFSD would like to give a huge shout-out to our partners at Delta Dental who visit schools to complete much-needed dental work for eligible students! Cleanings, cavities, and root canals are all done in the mobile bus, so students don’t have to miss school for an appointment! You put a smile on our faces, Delta Dental! Thank you!

4th and 5th Grade band and orchestra concert! Today these awesome students performed at school to show their amazing skills and tonight they will have yet another performance! Come and hear all of the new music they have learned this year! Starts at 6:30 in the Anne Sullivan gym! 🎶🎻🎺
🌟Reading is underway!!!🌟 All students are working to read or listen to as many books as possible! Each day students get to keep track of how many books they read that day or how many books were read to them!! At home you can help by reading to your child or having them read to you. Then they can mark that on a star the next day!
This week we will also be having special dress up days to celebrate different kinds of books. Check out all the dress up days to come!

Today Anne Sullivan started counting all of the books we read and listen to each day. Each day this week students will get a star to write down the number of books that they read or books that were read to them and we will count them all up! You can help at home by reading to your students or listening to them read and the next day they can put it on their star!!
Along with counting all of our books we will also celebrate with DRESS UP days!! See the poster for themed dress up days that help us learn about different kinds of books!
Read Across America Week is HERE!! 📚 Beginning today, March 13th the Sioux Falls School District will work with city libraries to help kids read more books and encourage their love for reading! This year the number of books read will also benefit REACH Literacy with donations from the supporting vendors. Families, this is a great time to talk to your students about books they are reading at school, which books they love most, and maybe take a night to read a book together!
Throughout the week there will be more information to come about fun events at school and around Sioux Falls!
2nd Grade Concert, "Animal Friends"! All of our second graders did a wonderful job yesterday at their concert! They worked hard learning the music, practicing their parts, and performing for parents and students!! 🎶🎤
Reminder Families! There is NO SCHOOL on March 10th! The students will enjoy a three-day weekend! It is also day light savings weekend where we Spring Ahead!!
4th Grade to the University of Sioux Falls for the WATER FESTIVAL!! 💦💦 Today our 4th grade students went to USF to learn about all things water. They got to listen to speakers talk about the water cycle, how and where water comes from in the city of Sioux Falls, and water waste. They got to do hands on activities to learn and participate in different water activities. They all had a great time and enjoyed all of their new learning opportunities!
🎶2nd Grade Spring Musical Concert! 🎶 Tomorrow all 2nd grade students will show off their musical talents in the spring concert. They have been working hard on all of their musical piece and speaker parts to get ready for their big moment! Please come and watch as they perform for the school and parents! There is a show at 10am in the school gym and again at 6:30pm at the Anne Sullivan gym!
Calling all new kindergarteners and their families!!! TONIGHT, March 2nd is kindergarten registration and fun at Anne Sullivan!! If you have a new kindergartener that will start in the fall of 2023, come to the school from 3-6!
If you have a child who will be turning 5 on or before Sept. 1, 2023, it’s time to start thinking about Kindergarten Registration! Registration opened on February 1st, and this is an opportunity to come check out your child’s new school!
To allow extra time for safe transportation, Sioux Falls School District schools will be opening 2 hours late on Friday, February 24th 2023. Please check your email for more information on how this may impact your family.
