School is rocking and rolling already this year! In order to best serve our students and check for all of their growth and understanding, we will start our MAP testing on Monday. Each year we do MAP testing 3 times a year to track growth and learning in the areas of reading and math. This information is shared with you at parent-teacher conferences.

Reminder school starts 7:55am. The breakfast door opens at 7:30am and other doors to classrooms open at 7:45.

Today all of our students got to celebrate their last school day with some fun! We had bouncy houses, treats, arts and crafts, face painting and more!
We had such an amazing school year with great memories and lots of growth!!

🌟 Multilingual Students WIDA Graduation!! 🌟
Today we had a number of students graduate from ML services based on their success with the Spring WIDA test! We are so proud of these students and all of their hard work! They got to celebrate with ice cream and all the toppings! 🍨
Special Native American Guest!
Today Starr Chief Eagle came to Anne Sullivan all the way from Rapid City for a special Native American performance! Some kids even got to go up and perform with her!
She will also be performing this summer at the Levitt! On July 27th she will perform at 10:30am for all families to enjoy!
5th Grade Civil War Presentation!
Yesterday, 5th grade students got a special visit from Kevin Gansz from the Old Couthouse Museum! They got to learn all about the Civil War and do some role play!

Wow! SFSD is so grateful to the Sioux Falls STORM, LEVO, and media partners KELOLand TV for supporting Operation Hope & Caring where $18,417 was raised to support elementary schools that don't have PTAs/PTOs. We had a great time at the game and especially enjoyed the WIN! ❤️

5th graders had a wonderful day at the Omaha Zoo! Got to explore all of the exhibits, enjoy a picnic lunch, and do lots of walking!!:)
They are estimated to be back to Sioux Falls around 5pm!

Today 1st grade students got to enjoy a day away on a field trip! With science, arts, psychical activity, farming, and so much more all students had the day to explore!

Washington High School Graduates come to visit Anne Sullivan!
Yesterday we had specials guests come over and march the hallways of Anne Sullivan. Past Anne students came in their graduation gowns to see students and teachers and all celebrate together!

Tonight is THE night! Come out to support SFSD elementary schools without PTAs/PTOs as the Sioux Falls STORM take on the Green Bay Blizzard. It's also Star Wars night, so wear your gear and bring your lightsaber to this fun family event sponsored by LEVO Credit Union!
The Weather Service indicates the greatest threat of severe weather did not materialize in Sioux Falls. We will begin our bus routes at approximately 3pm, so there will be a slight delay in getting elementary and middle school students home. High School dismisses at normal time.
Due to the weather 4-30-24, SFSD will hold all elementary students who walk or ride the bus until the system passes. We expect the system to arrive about 2:45pm and be done around 3pm. Busses will not leave the elementary schools until it is safe to do so. This will also cause a delay in middle school bus routes, so plan accordingly. If wx is still an issue at high school dismissal time, we will encourage students to wait to leave until the system passes. Thank you.
Weather may cause some challenges at school dismissal time today. SFSD will make plans with your child's safety as our highest priority. If there are changes, parents/guardians will be contacted immediately. We ask that you please monitor your phone and email closely.
